Vail Valley Winter Fly Fishing

You don’t have to wait until summer to enjoy the best fly fishing Colorado has to offer.  World class locations to wade and float fish are ever abundant in the Vail and Beaver Creek areas.  Anglers of all ability levels are invited to experience one of the best kept secrets in Colorado, winter fly fishing!

It makes no difference if you are a local wanting to perfect your cast, a family with varying levels of anglers, or a business group looking for an exciting get away then one of the Valley’s many guides is here to help you.  One of the most popular settings in the Valley is the Gore Creek.  Situated in the heart of Vail this Gold Medal stream almost guarantees success which may even be in the form of a 14 inch trout.  However, if you are going to be scoring that kind of  a catch, do it in style!  Make sure to visit one of our many local shops at which you may rent or purchase any clothing or equipment you may need.

Your winter fly fishing experience is not limited to Gore Creek, in fact, there are more than 70 miles of fishable waters in the Colorado River Basin.  Apparently the quantity is available, but what about the quality?  Colorado is home to thirteen Gold Medal waters in which a high percentage are Brookies, Browns, Cutthroats, and Rainbows of 14+ inches!

The photos featured on our website are a collection from various people enjoying the many activities in the Vail Valley.  If you would like to share photos of your fly fishing adventure, please email us.   We are putting together an exciting gallery of photos for all to enjoy.   Wouldn’t you like to show off your photos to thousands of people?!
